1/ Rhode Island just gave us another case study in why government-financed housing projects often fail.
The Ocean state spent $52.2 million to produce just 200 rental units.
I explain more in my latest for the @dcexaminer:

🚨BREAKING: Steve Hilton and his CAL-DOGE fraud investigation team have uncovered a massive scam: Mexican citizens living in Mexico are pretending to be illegal immigrants residing in California — and collecting free healthcare paid for by California taxpayers.
According to Hilton, this fraud is part of $20 BILLION in taxpayer dollars being sent to illegals — and Governor Gavin Newsom is reportedly bragging about it.
This is next-level fraud.
@mjd7718@joggingkoalas@Jaboolie Part of the point is the entire US was settled by self-isolated groups, and not much has changed since then. From the Midwest I had more culture shock moving to New England than Germany.
And btw, I still consume German media in the US, so I guess I’m a German by your reckoning.
@mjd7718@joggingkoalas@Jaboolie You’re saying that a country like Scotland is different from a country like Spain, but if both cultures are reproduced in the US (one filtered through the Caribbean), they’re suddenly similar because of national media? 🤔
@mjd7718@Jaboolie Florida literally shares a border with both Georgia and Mississippi, and he’s not wrong. Scots-Irish vs Caribbean-Latinos.
(Which state did you think is “Appalachia”?)
Apple is opening up Siri in iOS 27 so you can choose Grok as your default AI.
iOS 27 will reportedly introduce an “Extensions” system that lets users pick third-party AI models, including Grok, Claude, Gemini, and others, to power Siri, Writing Tools, Image Playground, and more.
Instead of being locked into ChatGPT only, you’ll be able to set Grok as the AI that handles your requests directly through Siri on your iPhone.
This is a big deal for anyone who prefers Grok’s truthfulness and real-time capabilities. It gives users actual choice instead of Apple deciding for them.
The feature is expected to be announced at WWDC 2026, June 8th and roll out later this year with iOS 27.

@JBurrellVdC5d@TaraBull I stopped flying thru AMS after a bad experience in 2022. I think that airport is trying to save the planet by ensuring people die of old age in the passport control line
@matborowiak@TaraBull Ok, I guess we just got lucky then. 😧
We were told not to leave the airport during a layover because of long lines, but didn’t have any problems.
