"The flags went up before the potholes were sorted. You could not tell the truth if your life depended on it. So get your silly little racist flags & stick them where the sun doesn't shine. It's pathetic. You're pathetic."
‘Since the beginning of the war in October 2023, not a single foreign journalist has been allowed to enter Gaza to independently report on the ground, forcing Palestinian journalists from Gaza to bear the burden of informing the world all on their own’ - another attempt to get into Gaza @RSF_inter
"The rise of antisemitism is not unconnected to the remorseless breakdown of the precept to love our neighbours. This stuff is hard, but it matters"

19 years ago, on October 7, 2006, Anna Politkovskaya was murdered by Putin's hitmen. She was the first to tell the truth about Russia's mass crimes in Chechnya, which foreshadowed those in Syria, Ukraine, & elsewhere. They could have been prevented. Almost no one listened to her.
The finger is always pointed at black and brown people for existing in this country. If it was truly about integration, they’d be advocating for more diversity across the board including majority white areas or organisations but these same people are very anti DEI
Lord Sumption, former supreme court judge, says Robert Jenrick's plan for lord chancellor (justice sec) to appoint judges would be serious mistake.
"If judges were appointed in today’s polarised world by the lord chancellor, I do not think the public would have the same confidence in their independence.
"They’re actually appointed by the judicial appointments commission, which is an independent, non-political body, and it looks for the same qualities in the judges it appoints.
"The only possible reason for going back to the old system would be to appoint judges who were less independent or more political than the ones appointed by the judicial appointments commission.
"In the United States, the supreme court has become subservient to the president and enabled him to behave like an autocrat. I think that that is a very serious business in the United States, and we should be very careful to take take warning from it."

In the light of Nathan Gill's conviction, this thread by @carolecadwalla very much deserves re-reading.
I think that for her fight to expose Russian interference in our politics, Carole should be given a seat in the House of Lords. Please repost if you agree.
