Every narrative Disney World ride has onboard speakers… except the People Mover. Iconic narration delivered through a never-ending stream of overhead stationary speakers embedded in the ceiling. It must have been a bit of a puzzle to figure this out. The train and people are moving, the narrator is talking, but the speakers never change. Is there another ride like this??

Space Mountain has been thrilling guests at Magic Kingdom since its opening on January 15, 1975. As Disney’s first indoor roller coaster, it combined innovative technology with storytelling, paving the way for future attractions. 50 years later, it remains a timeless classic.
I worked on the production of the opening of RnR, as well as most of the TV promos that starred Aerosmith. I’m even in the (very back) of the limo for one Monday Night Football promo with the band at the front.
Walt Disney World Resort was dedicated by Roy O. Disney 53 years ago today.
