@BillHobson1@JezCorden I agree. But the most well known brands value the sentiment of their brand names the most. It's why the coke-a-cola marketing budget is what it is.
Not every business sees value in the same things, but the most memorable ones value things that are hard to put a $ amount on.
If the news about Compulsion Games, Ninja Theory, and Double Fine potentially closing is true, that's three studios that, within the past ten years, have made a concerted effort to make their games more accessible. Something that's been part of Xbox's culture for the past ten years is slowly being eaten away until there's almost nothing left. That's almost ten years of knowledge going down the drain. You can't get that back.
@eXtas1stv Es triste porque estos estudios hicieron lo que se les pidió que eran juegos normalitos para alimentar gamepass y ahora les van a dar la patada por hacer exactamente lo que se les pidió...

Besides the layoffs that are happening, I think we will see a bunch of people retire from the industry altogether. There are lots of adjacent industries that would take them in with their expertise, and gaming right now is WAY too volatile for the stress if you can cash out and live a good and comfortable life.
@BillHobson1@JezCorden Why did over invest on gaming from a publicly traded company perspective. But both things can be true. They could be too invested, AND under value the brand.
@BillHobson1@JezCorden Publicly he has supported them, but he churned through their leadership and has been underhanded in how he talks about that arm of the business.
@BillHobson1@JezCorden But to answer your question - there are two types of advertising. The type that you can track on conversions (inbound) and the type you generally don't track (outbound). Xbox is outbound marketing. Like the signs brands buy that line the walls of a baseball field.
Factory Town 2: Paradise is in the #SteamNextFest happening right now. Build up a tropical island village and feed a sentient volcano with conveyor belts and catapults!

@Pochaos7 Satya is lying when he says MS subsidized Xbox for years. He's saying it to appease the share holders who still want him to get rid of it. He is clueless to how that industry works.
