@PeteSamuels5 Ko-fi much appreciated Pete! Glad it helped - you will probably find on deep-coloured or fairly opaque glass you don’t need to worry about the back, but clearer glasses may show a heavier line (through the glass) or the foil backing colour will show. Those are the ones to trim 😉
@PeteSamuels5 Hi Pete - for variable glass I would use the right width for the thickest areas, lining up the foil to create the perfect solder width on the front of the glass. After burnishing use a scalpel blade or similar to trim the foil on the back where it’s wide because glass is thin…
Had the good fortune to see this in real life yesterday Wow, the pictures just can't capture how beautiful this is. If only we had room amongst our other works from Rachel

@pplsassembly@jeanthorpeRR We need to stop measuring governments and countries by GDP and non-applicable domestic financial accounting metrics, and look at how well they care for their citizens health, longevity, wellbeing and the natural environments on which we all depend. Money is the wrong metric.
Okay, imagine you have a big box of candy, and your mom gave you some of it. Now, the rule is, every time you get candy, you have to share a little bit with the whole class to make sure everyone has some for things like class parties or new toys for everyone to play with.
- **First**, your mom bought the candy and had to give some to her boss (this is like when she pays taxes on her income).
- **Then**, she gives you some of the candy she already paid for. Now, when you have this candy, you're supposed to share a tiny bit again, not because you bought it, but because you're part of the class too.
The reason you share (or pay taxes) again is:
1. **Fairness**: It helps make sure everyone in the class can have fun things, even if their parents can't give them as much candy.
2. **Community**: Everyone, including kids, is part of the community. By sharing a little, you help keep things like parks, schools, and roads nice for everyone.
So even though your parents paid taxes on their money, when that money comes to you in the form of allowance or gifts, you're also asked to share a little bit to help everyone. It's like a promise we all make to look after each other and keep our community running smoothly.

Things have just got a lot more difficult . Here’s what I think . I had no control over what just happened . None . But I do have control over how I will react to it . And I am not going to give up on the beautiful and the good , the grip on my dreams just got tighter .

(🧵1/5, EMERGENCE): What happens to virulence after a new pathogen emerges? Popular thinking on the subject is that pathogens evolve become less virulent over time when they co-exist with their host species, based on the logic that virulent pathogens don't spread effectively.(1/)
@welshbirders@BTO_Cymru Raven (in Wales) share some interesting monitoring issues with raptors - some of their ecology, diet, monitoring under-representation and contentious human opinion (!). Plus they are fascinating and relevant to a number of other key species. Have a read: https://t.co/rVcFsxGEoM
