🚨new words🚨:

even as a non-Knick fan, Jalen Brunson’s playoff run changed the way i view sports. i wrote about it in a short piece; on the value of volume in football, basketball, and personal terms

I literally do not believe any rumoured outgoing anymore. Whole club including Gyokeres himself was ready to let go of him this summer but who botched it in the end? Who needs pure profit but can’t generate it?

[🪽 @fieldsofcops]

Berta continues to solicit fake interest from his old mates in Italy, Madrid and Turkey in an effort to find some magic bullet to his - and the club’s - inability to sell the guys that need selling. This is nothing, once again

🚨 Clubs are monitoring the situation of Noni Madueke ahead of the January transfer window & determining whether any parties would look at a loan move. Atletico Madrid & Juventus are believed to be long-term admirers, although other clubs would be expected to join the race. 🕵️‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 [@mcgrathmike]

@wrlder559 I’m moreso arguing that the lyrical substance that it receives praise for isn’t a real thing. I think the value of it lies in the technical stuff like the experimentation in flows and cadence (at least with Cole and Royce — Logic is incredibly derivative)

[🪽 @fieldsofcops]

such a vacuous subgenre of hiphop that i am grateful for the death of. people like Logic, Royce and Cole rapping about rapping over ‘rap beats’ is far less interesting and meaningful than the music of those who get dismissed by their fans (Lucki, YB, Lil Baby, take your pick)

My top 5 changes every day icl. This is my favourite tune for a while tho:

@freekawhi hiphop is a relatively new invention in this country, the bulk of fans’ exposure to it comes from your Ye’s and Kendrick’s etc. More regionally grounded HH is therefore less appreciated, both domestically and from the US

Average experience watching an Arsenal player get called up for international duty

[🪽 @fieldsofcops]

‘I’m the best rapper i do this for the other rappers’ is supposedly ‘conscious’ while rapping about addiction, poverty and trauma over instrumentals that actually try to shift things sonically is ‘mumble rap’ ✌️

The difference is staggering

[🪽 @fieldsofcops]

A squad that doesn’t make sense, with undroppable players that break everything. Horrible developmental environmental for Baum and Smith, and we’re being robbed of Russo x Cerci etc. This is how projects die

[🪽 @fieldsofcops]

She is consistently getting turned around in midfield, doesn’t deliver meaningful output, overhit passes, can’t probe a block

Mariona and Kyra needed a proper 3rd midfielder. Stanway doesn’t fit that mould and you can’t bench her. Makes midfield construction impossible

[🪽 @fieldsofcops]

She’s off the pitch now, but the midfield problems all stem from one person

It’s not Slegers, it’s Stanway

[🪽 @fieldsofcops]

Another

no words for Borbe either

[🪽 @fieldsofcops]

Spot the Arsenal pivots after a ball loss challenge (impossible)

Think Renee’s losing her grip. Was one thing to be bad offensively with our defensive principles still in place but the goals conceded today are pathetic

He looks really good. If he gets a goal in this break I think he’s hitting flow state until January
