Week 10 of the @OHSAASports High School football season. The final week of the regular season.

We snapped this photo today of the Mount Gilead HS practice field which has been hosting pre-season conditioning, 7-on-7, camps, and in-season practices since June 2nd. This is the 21st week in a row where the team is using the field 3-4 times per week. Nearly 600 hours of use in that time span.

Practice spaces are often overlooked as less important fields for maintenance but, trainers, athletes, and coaches alike will tell you what we know and believe: they are just as important for athlete health and safety as competition playing surfaces. High School athletes typically spend 70%-80% of their weekly on-field time on a practice field, furthering the point that these field cannot and should not be overlooked.

In this case, the stellar management and attention to detail by Greg Crenshaw, our Sports Field Specialist, who takes care of this field week in and week out for @mount_gilead is what makes the difference.

Can't thank @MGCoachMikeReid and his staff enough for their partnership in making sure they have well run practice periods on safe, playable, high-quality surfaces from pre-season to post-season.

Top notch conditions after a full season of Boys and Girls Varsity and JV matches on the new pitch.

We were proud to reconstruct the pitch this past summer. The new pitch has elevated the levels of safety and playability to some of the finest in the state.

Seven years ago today, I started something out inspiration, spite for a broken process, and honestly, just wanting to do really cool stuff with the seemingly tiny slice of talent I was blessed with.

Today, we're 13 employees strong and growing.

My family, our staff, and our clients have been the fuel for all of this and I can never pay them back for the heights they have taken this company to since 2018. All I can do is try harder to pay forward and enjoy the view while riding the wave.

As both teams compete tonight, they will also come together to support East Knox football player Aidan Riggle in his courageous fight against adenocarcinoma.

A tremendous night for a proud community as they celebrated the opening of their Phase 1 Athletic Facility Improvement.

A total transformation on a completely rebuilt stadium field which features a sand-based rootzone, new irrigation, drainage, and high-performance HGT Kentucky Bluegrass Sod. The capacity for games/practices has more than doubled as a result of these improvements along with increased safety and playability.

Track resurfacing finishes up later this month and will make this a facility Panther student-athletes can use reliably 10 months out of the year.

Field Source is incredibly grateful for the trust, support, and commitment from the Fairbanks administration, Board of Education, staff, and community who have all played significant roles in making this project a huge succcess.

What a ride it has been with @mitchhooten , @jmjarecki and the entire @wmwhitecaps organization.

We started our partnership in November 2021 with the club's ideal end in mind: "The original field lasted 30 years. We need the next one to last just as long and be state-of-the-art."

Along the way we worked through the ups and downs of project no one likes to talk about. We had long conversations, at all hours of the day, about worries, hopes, and details that others don't usually have with their project partners.

People often talk about the other companies, many of whom Mitch mentioned below, as the great players who helped design or build the project. I want to talk about a few people in the club who made up a big part of the team and put their faith into us.

Jim Jarecki, Vice President and General Manager, has been with club for over 30 years, since its inaugural season, and has quite literally seen it all. This was a legacy project for him. After tens of thousands of hours of his professional life spent in this ballpark, this was a chance to help take it to the next level.

Early on in this journey, Mitch Hooten proved to me he was an elite professional baseball Head Groundskeeper. Truly one of the best in all of baseball right now. He showed vision by knowing much of what he wanted, sought wisdom by asking the right questions about what he wasn't sure about, and displayed conviction in his belief of doing whatever it took to do things the right way. His trust fueled us to go far beyond any "typical" approach of consultant you might see in a project like this.

Behind them was a leadership team and ownership group who pushed us to be better at every step of the project. I can think of no other way to describe it becuase, deep down, it was imperative for us that everyone in the organization and the project team be successful.

Those people made this one of the most fulfilling projects we've done in 7+ years of being in business. Everything came together to form a fantastic partnership because the Whitecaps put us in the position we like to be in the best: making everyone better in the process of making a dream into reality.

And that's the way it went for @ganobleberries, me, and the rest of the @fieldsourceohio team on this one. Busting our asses to be a player who made the team great instead of simply being a great player.
