Obama just said what every Democrat needs to hear:
“Can you talk in plain English? Not a bunch of gobbledygook. Just talk like normal people talk. ‘The rent is too high.’”
Mamdani fixed 100,000 potholes and taxed empty billionaire penthouses.
He didn’t need a focus group to explain why.
Never stop connecting the dots.
Barack Obama on how he handles the stress of the presidency:
In his seventh year in office, Obama is asked what he's learned about pacing himself and managing the stress of the job.
He credits his temperament first:
"I'm lucky to by inclination and temperament be fairly steady."
Then his Hawaiian roots.
"Good weather... So I don't get too high, don't get too low."
But beyond temperament, Obama points to three deliberate habits:
Consistent morning exercise, time with family, and most importantly, taking the long view.
On family, he says:
"When you have dinner with your daughters, particularly teenage daughters, they'll keep you in your place and they'll teach you something about perspective."
On the modern news cycle, Obama observes:
"We live in such a 24/7 Twitter-fed constant news cycle and everything's a crisis... Everything is doomsday. Everything is, if it doesn't get solved tomorrow, your presidency is going off the rails."
He recalls how often that narrative has played out:
"There must have been 15, 20 things that over the last 7 years folks have said, 'This is it. It's over.'"
Two examples he points to:
The Gulf oil spill.
"Worst environmental disaster in history. Everybody said, 'He's handling this terribly.' A year later, nobody was talking about it. And in retrospect, it turns out that we handled that as well as any environmental crisis has been handled."
Ebola.
"That was probably one of the most effective international public health responses in history, and that was led by us. If we hadn't acted, it would still be raging and everybody else would be at risk."
These experiences shaped his approach:
"My job is to keep my eye on the ball and to stay focused on what can we get done every single day to advance the vision and the values that brought me here... As long as I stay focused on those north stars, then I tend not to get too rattled."
Donald J. Trump has signed a HISTORIC Executive Order.
No more secret bio labs.
No more hidden pandemic experiments.
No more playing with American lives.
This is about national security.
This is about protecting the homeland.
America stands firm. America stands ready.
Do you support this move ?
PRESIDENT TRUMP:” Seven months ago, our country lost a fearless warrior...Charlie Kirk, just an amazing guy.”
“Charlie was murdered by a cruel and vicious assassin who believed that by silencing his voice, he could kill an entire giant movement.”
“But standing here today, it's clear to see that Charlie's voice is not silenced. It's roaring, and roaring back louder, frankly, than ever before.”
@washingtonpost I don’t believe that God does not listen to people who want to wage war unless you are saying that about violent religion where the purpose of War is to being more violence over the defense of guarding peace.
@DaystarMarcus It does matter who is in the White House …. Jesus is on the throne always but that doesn’t mean we won’t reap the consequences of our choices.
"Americans can do anything, go anywhere, and outperform anyone.
Nobody can beat us.
Nothing can stop us because winning is what Americans do."
—President Donald J. Trump
