Despite 12 years in office, the govt has struggled to counter the coordinated network of NGO-left-media-intellectual ecosystems that routinely orchestrate national paralysis whenever an opportunity arises.

There were numerous legal avenues available to address this, starting with full transparency around PR firms. PR, influence operations, and public advocacy are entirely legitimate in a free society. However, when covert PR campaigns are deliberately designed to engineer street protests and destabilize law and order, it crosses the line from protected speech into criminal conspiracy.

Investigative agencies should have applied strict financial and legal scrutiny to PR agencies that secretly contract actors, socialites, and influencers to fabricate outrage, with an intention to mislead the public, and provoke civil unrest. But I don't think even a single agency has been scrutinized in so many years.

When an average citizen with no criminal intent can be prosecuted for a single tweet under public-order laws, why are PR agencies executing organized, intentional disinformation campaigns allowed to operate with relative impunity?

My politically incorrect thought currently is that if BJP goes out of power - and obviously it won't remain in power forever - would it still have a dedicated cadre that is willing to kill and die in the streets to grab the power back, like the current opposition is doing?

The party should go back to the drawing room and discuss this. In an attempt to widen its social base and appear accomodative, could it have diluted or weakened its cadre?

Historically, Sangh karyakartas were seen as it cadre, but even Sangh has been trying to widen reach and become more accomodative? Who are Bhim Arny and Nihang equivalents of the BJP/RSS?

Street power, in short.

While politically incorrect and appearing like a thought from 80s and 90s, I think this is a very relevant to current times.

Industrial revolution was one of the major catalysts that pushed out the old system of governance and those replaced with electoral democracy, and the current tech revolution - from social networks to AI - might end up replacing electoral democracy with something else in the coming decades.

The transition period will be painful and you could need the good old street power.
