@scotgov has created a two-tier civil justice system in Scotland - where legal remedies that give protection from domestic violence are often elusive to the low waged and unwaged - who cannot get access to legal assistance to enforce their rights

The series Adolescence: It's positive that it's prompting discussions about boys, sexism, and social media.
But the film, by itself, is limited as a teaching tool. One-off media interventions are unlikely to produce substantial or lasting change, as I note in my book

“An assisted dying service will be in place by 2027.”
I find the use of “service” in the AD debate jarring, incongruous. Language of health care can’t disguise the profound shift in medical ethics.

Surprise! This is how easily manipulated the Narcissist-in-Chief is and all of our adversaries understand that. (Tbh not sure why Khamanei hasn’t sent Trump a painting yet either, or a Trump Tower contract in Tehran.)

Today, on International Day of the Girl, we must remember that for nearly three years, Afghan girls have been deprived of their fundamental right to education due to the restrictive policies imposed by the Taliban. This situation poses a grave threat to the future of an entire generation and the sustainable development of the country. We call on the international community and human rights organizations to fully support the rights of Afghan girls and hold the Taliban accountable for their systematic violations of human rights and the exclusion of women and girls.
