Why is it so broadly unremarked that Labour has 402 MPs in Parliament, yet it has had to import the Mayor of Greater Manchester to run for PM?
What does that say about the level of talent in the Commons and the Cabinet?
And why does Labour seem unable to find any women to run?
Due to the Sentencing Act 2026, Arshid Hussain – the man who abducted and raped me as a child, and who did the same to dozens of other children – is being considered for early release. He was sentenced to 35 years in prison in early 2017 and was described as one of the most dangerous men in the UK. He was later convicted of further offences.
His brother, Basharat Hussain, is also being considered for release.
I honestly can’t put into words how disgusted I am with the British government.
The Trans lobby used women's prisons as a test bed for how self ID could work in practice. Cynically using the most vulnerable of women to set precedent & further push for gender self ID in the belief that the public wouldn't much care, was, in my opinion, utterly reprehensible.
@BBCNews Which is the same as the English guidance, and guess what, that's against the law also. If only the BBC had reported this issue honestly in 2015 when women started making a fuss, think of all those human rights abuses against vulnerable female prisoners you could have prevented.
Once again, the Scottish government has been trounced in court.
I do not know why John Swinney is so keen to put male murderers in women's jails but it is now clear that doing so is unlawful.
A fantastically clear judgment. I won't be the only woman feeling tearful right now.
I am prouder than I can say to know @ForWomenScot.
I have no words for all those who promoted and defended putting any men in women's prisons.

When I got arrested for Nazi Pug, I got held in jail until my court date due to the "serious nature" of my "offence".
But the guy who threw a toddler into a crocodile enclosure to try and have him ripped limb from limb has already been bailed the very next day.
Clown country.
Just over 200 years after Elizabeth Fry won rights for women in prison, we have established that the Scottish Government's cruel policy of incarcerating women with violent male prisoners was never lawful. We are thrilled with the result, but it should never have come to this.
