Sophia rubbed her temple. Fantastic, a migraine was coming on. That's exactly what she needed right now.
" And, please, fetch us a cup of water, thank you. I'm rather parched. "
" Right. "
Easier said than done.
If not for her, then for Amelia.
She raised her head as well, frowning uneasily at the infirmary.
" I've been here so many times, yet I always feel queasy when I arrive. "
She giggled.
" Jesus Christ, this will be fun! I can't wait to see the look on his face. "
She then nodded her head at the substitute term.
" Most definitely. I'm beginning to see why he and Georgie never get along. "
" Well . . . Let's just say I'm, ah, rebelling somewhat without his knowledge, but let's keep that a secret between us, shall we? "
Girl talk(?)!
" Don't sound so glum, dear sister. Hopefully he'll get that stick out of his . . . Y'know. "
@lymphantiium :: not to mention, he was pretty progressive at the time. he strongly believed women were just as capable as men, so he raised her the way he wouldve raised a son. at least, back in those times. ::
" I know. "
She repressed her own emotions, however she was bitter knowing he wasn't treating Amelia well.
" No, he hasn't. I'm growing rather sick of it. "
" Well . . . We had a fight recently and that led up to him implying I'm a child and how I should leave it to the adults to clean up after my messes. "
. . . Sigh.
" I'm not speaking to him right now. "
" Oh, Lia. You don't need to dread for the worst. We've championed through our toughest ailments and most miserable days; we'll survive this. "
She gave her sister's hand a gentle squeeze.
" We're strong. "
@revolutionpanik " I know what you mean. My father being, " a pause. How does she put this delicately? " . . . My father, it can get a little hard to breathe at points, and growing up with fourteen other siblings certainly doesn't help. "
As much as she loved them, she needed her space.
@revolutionpanik Oh! Another fellow Jefferson! How lovely.
" A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Liz. Please, call me Sophia. I don't really need the public knowing who I am right now. "
Yeah, the fancy gown wouldn't give it away or anything.
" I suppose that's fair. Should we go before or after the garden stroll? "
Sophia frowned at the sigh. She hated when they sounded just a bit disappointed in her.
@revolutionpanik She pat the air with her hands, an anxious smile on her face.
" Really, really. I'm fine. You needn't worry about me. "
She smoothed down her gown, chuckling ever so quietly.
" May I have your name? I don't believe we've met before. "
