if you want to watch a series about a young boy brought to a magic school who has an evil being possessing him and scars on his face, whose mentor is gay for a Wizard Bigot, you do not need to watch a harry potter reboot. the series is called jujutsu kaisen
for anyone unfamiliar, alice troughton directed colin morgan in his doctor who episode, in multiple bbc merlin episodes and in the living and the dead
she has described him many times as one of her favorite people to work with and teased this project in a reddit q&a years ago
Ok but the gayness aside do you realize how crazy it is that the KING is at the TAVERN casually dressed and playing a dice game for money with his SERVANT all while bantering and allowing to be teased and made fun of. That's the people's princess.
@dabforpalermo I had a somewhat similar experience before (this was on my main pseud) and I think my message came across bc they deleted their comment 😅
AO3 is not social media, it's a library. Fanfic is not content, it's a hobby. Fic writers are not published authors who should stay out of fan spaces. They ARE fans. Fic readers are not clients or customers, they're fellow fans. The sooner people realise all that, the better.
to me, the mark of a good fanfic is when the author can take an absurd tropey plotline but still write the characters completely in-character and believable.
like if you can write a soulmates AU while maintaining accurate characterization & dialogue, you’ve mastered the craft.
Girl to girl, please start creating again. Write your thoughts, draw your feelings, color outside the lines, read something that feeds your mind, dance like nobody’s watching, craft something with your hands. Your soul is craving that version of you again.
HAHA this is funny but it was one trauma after another, thank goodness I didn't know doctor who in 2012, BUT THE END OF MERLIN ON CHRISTMAS EVE.....

@zanzimez Oof i've been mostly a reader these past couple of years due to busy uni sched 🫠🫠 2mil word count is insane (my goal this year is to make my current 490k+ to 1mil)
If I had 5p for every time Sir Jonathan Pryce plays an old grandad type character with dementia, I'd have 10p, which isn't a lot, but weird that it's happened twice
