Absolutely correct. Taking more hits doesn’t “toughen” you up. The recovery component is as important. Especially returning to training after competition.

If you are a young MMA fighter on the regional scene don’t blindly sign promoter and manager contracts. Review them. Scrutinize them. There are many terrible terms. Negotiate them. It’s a good practice for all your business ventures, including your fight career.
