@tommythetreat01@A_S12@IndyCar Could they race at the SMI tracks (assuming SMI lets them)? And possibly the independent road courses like Laguna Seca, Sebring, RoadAtlanta, etc. I think they'd have enough places to go to at least get 16 or so races a year. Would anybody watch though? I doubt it.
@TheMikeBagley@PPistone Regarding stage break commercials - yes, we were TOLD that stage break ads would mean fewer during green, but until this past year, the TV providers didn’t seem to lessen green flag ads. At least more side by side this year thankfully, hope that stays.
@DanielleTrotta@LarryMac28 wait, you mean “driver X needs to finish 23rd or better to clinch the championship so they loaf around in 18th all day“ wasn’t exciting enough for you? 🤣
@leighdiffey@SteveLetarte@JeffBurton question came up on Reddit - does the live points pylon reflect anticipated stage points, or just anticipated end of race points?
@LarryMac28 there’s no chance that’s correct, because if the top 16 finish 1st–16th in each of those first three races, the bottom floor still get eliminated.
@TheMikeBagley@SiriusXMNASCAR@PPistone@Sammy_Agee Speaking specifically of the All Star Race - no fault of NASCAR's, but All Star Games in general are looked at as not particularly serious events. The All Star Race is fun but it's probably a victim of its name because of the other All Star events being less than serious.
@SiriusXMNASCAR#TMDNASCAR My only problem with saying "bring out the people to watch it in person" is that @roadamerica brought out what, 100,000 people and they still canned that race?
Do they want TV viewership or butts in seats?
@SiriusXMNASCAR#TMDNASCAR All the other playoff drivers except Bell have ONLY won ovals! Are we saying they don’t deserve to be there because they haven’t won a road course?
@DGodfatherMoody You mentioned how important it is to get as many laps as possible at road courses, I think it's absolutely ASININE that stage breaks at RCs are under yellow, the fans in the stands already see the cars less than at ovals, they get screwed during stage breaks.
@Riceman61@LarryMac28 especially at road courses, you have the lowest number of laps of any races in the entire season, you need to spend as few as possible under caution. That’s why stage breaks at road courses shouldn’t be under yellow. Wish they never changed that back.
