After the tragic passing of singer Liam Payne, a petition calling for more legislation to protect the mental health of artists has garnered nearly 70,000 signatures.

“The entertainment industry needs to be held accountable and be responsible [for] the welfare of their artists. [...] Such a law would necessitate regular mental health check-ups, adequate rest periods, and the presence of mental health professionals on-set,” says petition starter Day Kv.
