As someone who developed transgenic #zebrafish for #drugdiscovery models for 3 years, I definitely agree! Even back in 2012, we knew that zebrafish could solve many of the tasks usually entrusted to rodents, such as the T-maze, and even recognize human faces. Nevertheless, their lack of slow-acting pain nerve fibers makes them more humane to euthanize... still cried when I sacrificed my first fish for some wild-type genomic DNA, though...
