Today I attended the flag raising on Parliament Hill to celebrate the Philippines’ 126th Independence Day, a day to celebrate the sacrifices and contributions made by Filipinos around the 🌏, including the 1 million who call 🇨🇦 home.
It was an honour to speak at the @filcaninterns’s 126th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence Celebration today and share some stories of our incredible people-to-people ties.
The friendship between our two countries is stronger than ever.

Today also marks the 125th anniversary of Philippine independence. Happy to join kababayans on Parliament Hill today to celebrate this occasion. Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan!
Las night, our interns participated in a Filipino Heritage Month event on the Hill. It’s great to see them represent Filipino-Canadians from across Canada!

This week, our NPPIP interns visited the Liberal Research Bureau (LRB) to learn about how they support our government. It was a great experience that allowed the interns to look further inside of the political process and learn about the important role of LRB.

Our interns visited Canada’s Cold War Museum. Ottawa is a great place to learn more about Canada’s important history, and understand the moments that have shaped our country.
