I know some Palestinians may not be happy with the way a few things were portrayed, which I won’t say bc I want everyone to form opinions on that alone. But honestly it’s reality and it’s regret, so.
Overall 1000/10 movie, I encourage everyone to watch it and be prepared because it’s so emotional.
Personally think they explained the revolt really well ESPECIALLY with the crackdown on protests and with the 1000+ appeals Palestinians have made to the British. They showed all real footage of this too. With not only photos, but actual videos.

I feel in some parts that were really heavy and emotional they cut short which was a little disappointing because it felt a little unfinished. As Palestinians we obviously know what had happened, but for outside viewers I feel like it may lead them into a bit of questioning throughout the film. 🇵🇸
They emphasize the Palestinian Muslim and Christianity unity a ton, which actually isn’t common to see. Not for anything, but it’s just not really shown as much as it is reality. They showed and even spoke about this flag, which again, never seen in film. Probably one of my favorite things in it.

You could immediately tell this movie was fully directed by Palestinians given their display of statuses, dialect, and money. This is genuinely my first ever time hearing the falahi dialect we speak with be used in the ENTIRETY of a film. That was something so unique to see. But aside from even that, the classes of Fellahin and Medanin was shown really well that even we as Palestinians still deal with to this day.

I absolutely loved the back and forth from film to real footage. That really kept the watcher to not fall into a trance of the “movie scene” and basically showcase that everything is on point and real life events. The storytelling with the dates helped with not getting ahead and thinking all of these events from the jewish invasion to the destroying of villages were all still happening longggg before 1948.

🇵🇸🧵| Such an emotional film I have so much to say sorry 😭
It was honestly so different for them to focus strongly on the British which I really liked since they get away with being directly complicit in the occupation.
