@John_Mehaffey The old poker area is really being wasted. There's a bunch of slots there that for some reason don't get much play. It could be the lighting (too much?), but whatever the reason, they should make better use of it.
@John_Mehaffey@mspc The strategy is indeed pretty difficult, both to calculate and to play with. This thread lists the strategies for a couple of paytables from the now-defunct Wolf Video Poker software:

On some machines in Eldorado and Circus Circus casinos in Reno, you can't even cash out a ticket over $1000. You put a large ticket in, press cash out, and the machine goes into "Call Attendant" mode! You need to wait 20 minutes or so for the attendant to pay you in cash!

Resorts World trying out a new tagline: “At least our slots are looser than the Rebel at Mojave and Bonanza!” Related: Rebel still has the edge on pricing for 32-ounce soft drinks.
This 8/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe game is for those who think a straight flush should pay more. It pays double on a straight flush, taking the paytable from 98.49% for a normal 8/6 BPD game to 99.07%.
@John_Mehaffey I was there very recently, and I can confirm this. 9/6 JoB, 9/4/4/3 BDW, and 8/5 ACE$ were downgraded to 9/5, 13/4/3/3, and 7/5. The hosts were saying a player was taking advantage of their generous games! I guess they can't handle action on 99.5% games?! 🤷♂️
