@boom_raaah Nobody’s arguing cricket is bigger than football globally. But if nobody watched cricket outside India, it wouldn’t be in the Olympics. The IOC doesn’t add sports for one country. T20 WC already has 20 teams and is expanding. Every global sport started somewhere.
@VampireXAlpha@vedhabetaal also, if you ask me if any celebrity outside cricket and football will fill up the stadium in Argentina they won’t respect our legend respect their legend. Even if Messi came in, we don’t even respect our legend and he wasn’t invited by India. It’s a private event.
@VampireXAlpha@vedhabetaal Calling people names isn’t a counterargument. It’s usually what people do when they lose one. 😭. my point over there is Messi’s great nobody’s about that even if it is a famous celebrity comes in India people will obviously fill up the stadium time and again it’s been proven.
@vedhabetaal Exactly. That’s the point. A celebrity filling a stadium abroad doesn’t prove a sport is bigger than another sport. Messi filling stadiums in India doesn’t prove football is bigger than cricket in India, just like concerts in Argentina don’t prove music is bigger than football
@SanjayB70333159@Tarun113344 Google ‘jaguar’ and you’ll find an animal, not a car. That’s not how words work, brother. it does not mean Jaguar brand is irrelevant. 🤦♂️
@mitsuki_x_10 Football fans: ‘We’re the biggest sport in the world.’
Also football fans: tweets about cricket 24/7🤣. I see shadow boxer everyday. if you wanna see the real celebration of cricket watch 2024, T20 World Cup winner celebration. The flight itself name AIC24WC . Football fans delu
@Shubbi00 Every time someone says ‘cricket isn’t bigger than football,’ a cricket fan somewhere replies: okay?🤣🔥. this proof that football fans in India are delusional as hell. I never seen an argument. South Africa is really good in rugby. Why don’t they win FIFA?
@AnkitM997 A country of 1.4 billion not qualifying is a football problem, not a cricket problem. Every four years people ask the wrong question and get the same answer. 🔥. Now oci foreigners coming to India we might have slight hopes.
@Rajiv1841 Rajv bro I am cricket fan too but our flight need to be with football fan who criticize cricket just for exiting in India. Our fight need to be proving that a country can have multiple sports culture . Cricket World Cup real and fifa is real real ruby World Cup is real . So stop
@Pull_shots45 I agree that ICC wasted decades when it came to global expansion.
But T20 changed the direction. We now have a 20-team World Cup, more associate nations, and a pathway toward 32 teams in the future.
Football didn’t become global overnight. If cricket keeps expanding opportunity
@TUnlimitedd If cricket was truly becoming less competitive, Afghanistan wouldn’t be beating former world champions, the USA wouldn’t have beaten Pakistan, and more nations wouldn’t be investing in the sport.
What you’re describing is change. Not decline. don’t forget about Olympics.
@AdithyanAR78077 Exactly. That’s the point.
One record was set in a stadium and safety setup that doesn’t even exist today. Modern stadium capacities are lower because of regulations.
That’s why using a 1997 attendance record to judge the popularity of a sport in 2026 is pointless.
@AdithyanAR78077 So football’s biggest attendance record in India is from 1997, and cricket’s is from a single IPL match in 2022. Thanks for reminding everyone which sport is currently filling stadiums and generating demand.”
@mor51849971@Trishant90@Dhurandhar055 Calling Test cricket a practice match is hilarious.
“Test” is a British sporting term for the highest level of international competition. Cricket didn’t invent the word, it inherited it. there is a test in rugby too
@ZyedSafwan13550 Super Bowl is huge, no denying that. But comparing one American domestic final to an entire global sport is funny.
By that logic, IPL final vs MLS final means cricket is bigger than football in America? No, right? to your comparing to Super Bowl what what is tomorrow baseball?
