A woman - who has not yet been identified - has been killed and her body thrown away like trash in Melbourne. On Sunday, her body was found in the Maribyrnong River at Flemmington. About 90 minutes earlier, the body of a man was found in the same river a suburb away. Police are yet to confirm if their deaths are related. However, the man who found the woman has told media plastic bags and rags were on her body. She is the 51st woman killed this year. No one is charged.

@thecitizenweb @filmentho Good, necessary work in this article. I live near Melb Uni and work near RMIT and travel through there daily.. this sits with what I’ve observed. Inspectors also seem to be around a lot more during o-weeks and early semester.
Last year my investigative journalism student @filmentho at @cajunimelb did this incredible investigation into Myki inspectors targeting international students. He surveyed dozens of students, dug through government reports and lodged successful FOI requests. You can read it here
