Rewatching the BBC/Branagh Wallander series. 90-minute mini-films, some shot by Anthony Dod Mantle, featuring Tom Hiddleston (amongst others) and starring arguably the finest British actor of his generation. Come again with this licence fee talk.
I was along for the first season, I was hugely alienated for a lot of the second, I'll only watch the third if the level of 'I need to see what happens in the plot' desire makes it high enough round the scale.
The Manson interview, clumsily linked as it is to Tench's feelings around his son at that point, is one of the more memorable pieces of ridiculously caricatured, cringeworthy tosh I've seen recently.
Loving Watchmen. Unpredictable and pleasantly unbalanced. The right level of nods to the source material. The absolute height of ‘show don’t tell’. The list could go on. It’s wonderful.
Can you do a John Clark/Rainbow 6 film really well and successfully right now? I would say absolutely not. Could you piggy back it on Jack Ryan or turn it into a spin off Prime series? Absolutely.
Haven’t read the full thing but the first few comments at least offer some sensible stuff on a) why Matice isn’t John Clark and b) why Matice really should have been John Clark if everyone was thinking correctly.

Jack Ryan, season two (and season one, for that matter).
It’s stupid. It’s 24, with less logistical cleverness. Noomi Rapace has told three stories about who she is. None of them make sense. The mummy from The Mummy is in it.
I am quite enjoying it (again).
I’ve not entirely worked through why this grinds my gears so much, but there’s something naive in there about selling a space in your masterpiece and therefore accepting that it’s not your masterpiece.
Here's @mcastimovies writing about finally seeing her version of Florida depicted on the small screen.
(It's a great article, but I've always had a soft spot for "Miami Vice." That said, I admit I've only ever been a tourist in the Sunshine State.)
