@Noahpinion@michaelxpettis Going back to a four year-old video to be so disrespectful to diss an important and well-known economist feels a bit forced. Why do you talk like that?
@BrankoMilan What exactly is the point of this other than to undercut Ukraine? If you don’t want to sound like a Putin stooge, or even a Fox News stooge at this point, you should really rethink the merit of such comments.
Reporter: The cheapest ticket for the NBA Finals game you’re attending is $8,000. Americans can’t afford these sports events.
Trump: They can watch it on television. It's semi-free to watch it on TV. That's the way life goes
@economoser@40yoap Rationing is absolutely ok in the World Cup. Willingness to pay measured by queuing time is a perfectly valid allocation mechanism. Probably the same for NBA finals.
@wwwojtekk I had to look this up, very cool story (which I’m sure you know https://t.co/IMAtoGMxck). Btw how is Walesa viewed today? It’s surprising how he has faded from the international scene, given how famous he once was (and isn’t that old).
@Afinetheorem What’s that literature about part-time options post-maternity? The incidence literature circa Gruber is about spillovers to women that didn’t have kids. Would love to see some references if you have them.
@arindube Try Athens. Despite the bad press, Greek cuisine has a whole subgenre of dishes (ladera) which are traditional and vegan. These are fully integrated into local habits so you can find them anywhere.
@SoumayaKeynes Germany is still ruled by a shopkeeper mentality, with no strategic vision, only concerned with the problem at hand. That’s why Merkel handled the euro crisis so poorly, and Russian relations even worse. Same now with Chinese dumping.
@GuthmannR All of these are valid, but I thought the main point are that low prices/inflation in Korea lead to depreciation. Still don’t understand how.
@GuthmannR The first leg of the mechanism (low price level) makes total sense. But why would lower Korean prices vs US prices lead to Won depreciation?
