[NEWS] According to BigHit Music, #BTS held the World Tour ARIRANG in Mexico City at Estadio GNP Seguros for 3 days, meeting with approximately 150,000 fans! 🇲🇽
The excitement outside the venue was equally intense. Local authorities estimated that approximately 35,000 fans surrounded the stadium on the second and third days of the concert. As the crowds spread to surrounding roads, some sections were temporarily closed.
The Los Angeles Times reported that "it is rare for a boy band to emerge as a focal point of international diplomacy," covering the official invitation from the Mexican President to the presidential office and the explosive public reaction. The publication noted that over one million people attempted to purchase tickets, and those unable to enter gathered around the venue.
The economic impact of BTS, dubbed "BTSnomics," is also receiving significant attention. The Mexico City Chamber of Commerce predicted that the concert would generate an economic effect of approximately $107.5 million (about 155.7 billion KRW), encompassing ticket sales, air travel, accommodation, food and beverages, and local commercial spending. With the influx of domestic and international tourists, the accommodation sector is estimated at approximately $17 million (about 24.6 billion KRW), and food, beverage, and service spending at approximately $2.18 million (about 3.2 billion KRW).
