i think i can pretty confidently say that $VAR won't launch below $1.5B FDV
which already puts one point somewhere around $43-50
and for most people that's already a cook (myself included)
however, i think what happens between now and TGE could make that valuation look conservative
variational specifically mentioned "major strategic partnerships" (means multiple) that could redefine its trajectory
that's the part of the announcement i'd pay the most attention to
lucas previously worked at Goldman Sachs, so he has a background in TradFi
could we see partnerships with some of the biggest institutional market makers? or maybe even a major exchange?
obviously just speculation, but i doubt the team would push back TGE unless they believed these partnerships were worth the delay
and with Omni Pro and the Trading API still on the way, there's a lot more to look forward to than just the token launch
keep in mind variational isn't your average "farm the airdrop and f*ck off" protocol
i think people are focusing too much on what $VAR could be worth under current circumstances and not enough on how much those circumstances could change before TGE
Day 6: The first highly anticipated Perp DEX Airdrop is coming
Extended is having its TGE in November this year, with the ticker $XTEN
Theyโve raised $19M and generated around $35M in fees so far.
Hereโs the airdrop math:
With 30% of the 1B token supply allocated to the airdrop and roughly 70M points distributed, each point should be worth around 4.286 $XTEN
> $100M FDV = $0.43 per point
> $200M FDV = $0.86 per point
> $300M FDV = $1.29 per point
> $500M FDV = $2.14 per point
I didnโt really farm Extended, apart from doing some low volume early on.
So Iโm not getting much from the airdrop.
But Iโll potentially be a buyer if they launch at a low FDV. Something around $100M -$150M would be a good bid in my eyes.
Polymarket is currently pricing in a FDV above $150M one day after launch at 72%
Letโs see how accurate that turns out to be.
