Last week my papers on the importance of compassion at work were read in Botswana, Canada, Chile, Ethiopia, Germany, India, Kenya, Latvia and the US, as well as the UK. This is a truly human issue, cutting across many boundaries. Free resource here: https://t.co/BmWtALR6cM

Brilliant people leave teams when they feel they just canโt make change happen. The barriers?
- fixed hierarchies based on grade
- slow or no decision-making
- 0 freedom to innovate
- blocking good ideas
- taking credit for the efforts of others
- no engagement
- hubris
- spin
Sadly this was all entirely predictable, and therefore preventableโฆ had there been the will. Thank you for shining a light on the figures @DannyShawNews
NEW The proportion of police officers leaving the service in England/Wales has risen to a record level.
@ukhomeoffice figures show 6.6% of officers resigned, retired, died or were dismissed in 2022/23 - 9.189 in total - โthe highest leaver rate since comparable records beganโ
@jem7069@DannyShawNews Yes, when the workforce numbers are slashed so quickly, then itโs really obvious that replacements will be much younger in service, and officers will have to carry out roles previously done by civilian staff who are not replaced, keeping them off the frontline. All predictable.
