@SecondaryEng Ah Rosie! You are amazing honestly. So many of my Year 11s went into their exams buzzing about inference loops - they call it “bubbling” a quotation which I kinda love xxx
Live feedback also has an equity problem: the most confident students can absorb the most attention, while quieter students drift.
Here is a better approach to the marking conundrum!

Society demands that a woman stay perfectly calm when armed agents aggressively try to force open her car door, yet an ICE officer is permitted to "panic" and fire three shots into someone's head at point-blank range simply because he claimed to feel threatened.
I know teachers who:
- Have stopped drinking water during the day because the staff toilet next to them has been broken for months.
- who have an hour added to their morning routine because all but one photocopiers are broken.
- are struggling to manage because most Support Staff cut.
The lack of funding is sending workloads sky high and making the average day gruelling.
Education is running on empty.
It needs correcting at the budget.

EVERY CHILD CAN BE A READER! Give them access to the widest possible range of books. Let them choose freely and read for pure pleasure, with no strings attached. Never dismiss their choices. Every reader has the right to read whatever they love! #literacy

I really hope folks wake up and understand how far generative AI has gone beyond ChatGPT. This is technology your students are using regardless of your course policy on AI. Talk to your students about it. Please.
Shocking if unsurprising findings. Of 800 English teachers:
Only 1 in 5 say GCSE English is enjoyable to teach.
More than half say it focuses on the wrong things.
54% say it doesn’t meet the needs of all students.

We’re thrilled to see the government’s announcement today of a national reading campaign. We look forward to working closely with the National @Literacy_Trust and other partners to reintroduce millions of children to the joy and magic found in books ❤️ #NationalYearOfReading2026
@SwailesRuth It’s insane isn’t it? Schools near me have had a far more humane approach: uniform relaxed a little while ago to no ties and blazers, then PE kits for a couple of weeks and most recently, early finishes as classrooms were dangerously hot (34/5) for staff and students.
