One of the best things about Camp Miasma is how it demonstrates that repression and fear don't mean a lack of desire and sexual fantasies, and how, rather than ‘go find yourself’ as Billy encourages Kris in the beginning, they end up chasing after their fears together.
It was never a good movie but what the hell was the director’s cut? Had to pause halfway through and go back to the original. He’ll go to the ends of the world to erase any trace of Scully laughing. What’s wrong with that man?
my grief over dolly and tim curry is absolutely parasocial but you can't understate the impact that both of those people had for queer people, for women, for people who have always had "weird" interests and big personalities, they were icons for anyone strange
Can’t get over how good Gillian’s performance is, but on top of that, how incredible Billy’s portrayal of the reclusive crazy lady old Hollywood star is. The meta of the meta performance.
@Luna_Salander YES. The cut from the hysterical laugh to pure tenderness towards Kris being freaked out and her selfawareness of how she might be perceived in the outside world. The actor that she is. Delicious.
