DO NOT. I repeat. DO NOT EVER get comfortable at any job. If you are not getting raises, if you are not moving up, apply to other jobs. Look out for yourself, do better for yourself. Especially if you’re a good worker.
@njoybetz The same goes for individuals who accept fellowships and job that pay extremely low but are located in extremely high cost of living areas. Their parents are giving them money.
"I'll be happier when I [fill in the blank]"
There's always something we will be worried about but as soon as it's resolved, something else to worry about will probably come up.
Thus, it's so important to take a break from thinking about the future and focus on the now.
@slimm_calhoun@1stgenmoneymuse I love this method! Always remember to change the name of the company and double-check that you did! (From personal experience)
Tweaking it a bit to fit the job description and boom you're done!
I do not believe 9-5s are for everyone.
I also do not believe entrepreneurship is for everyone.
What I do believe in is people choosing something that works for them and makes them happy.
@My_North_Star @Hoochimarusan@LooveIm @abbie__j_ @elcavaqueen Financial abuse is so common and so many women are stuck in unsafe, toxic, and abusive relationships since they can’t afford to leave.
@elcavaqueen Its so important for women to have their own money and understand how it works to ensure they can always have autonomy over themselves.
@mexistentiaI So many women are in abusive relationships but can’t leave because of financial dependency. The poverty rate for separated women is 3x higher than married women.
The same goes for having only one person take care of ALL the finances. We need to understand money and how it works
I'm a firm believer in education.
I attended college and graduate school.
I watch YouTube videos on topics I'm unfamiliar with.
I read books to expand my knowledge of my interests.
I buy courses that expand on concepts I already know about.
Education comes in so many forms.
@thehannahsavage@OrangePaulp 90% of people who are famous are always rich or have already famous parents. It doesn’t matter if they’re musicians, actors, models, even social media influencers.
They’re all connected somehow.
Watching shows all day, everyday after work is easy
Skipping the gym & eating comfort foods is easy
Not working on your business & partying is easy
Spending all your money at the mall is easy
Gossiping about politics, sports and your old friends is easy
Easy doesn’t pay well
In 2020, U.S. banks charged $12.4 billion in overdraft fees.
There are alternatives, many online FDIC-insured banks do not charge overdraft fees AND have higher interest rates than traditional banks.
