but mostly it's just to enable freedom & not gatekeep. it doesn't matter if you send a word doc or a scan of a scribble on the back of a receipt or an audio file or a video like this ^ one. as long as it can go in an email it's game. creativity doesn't come from instructions

this is partly to discourage serial submissions :/ we need to care for our work enough to pay attention to where it ends up & when you're sending the same email to dozens (hundreds??) of different magazines just because their submissions are open you're wasting time & energy
