There is a lot going on in the world in regards to #autism.
As a family affected by severe autism (now referred to as profound autism) this “should” be a good thing- bringing awareness and hopefully acceptance of our more severe kids.

We took a trip down to Grandma & Grandpa Morrison's in Ohio. We all had a great time! Josh enjoyed the zoo- especially the penguins, hiking around Honey Run Waterfall, getting ice cream at Velvet Ice Cream Factory (such a neat place!) and lots of people watching.
“He definitely loved it. He went in the basket and shut the door! It was too windy to put the balloon up which was a total bummer.”
So he came to our office and did a puzzle! 💙

Josh’s final Friday.
He has four days next week and school is over.
We are sad because he has grown to really love school and his bus rides. We’re also a little nervous for what comes next. If anybody has tips for us, please share them.
Wishing you all have a great day!
Our adult son Josh is autistic—and parenting him as an adult is a whole new journey. 💙 We're sharing our real-life experiences in hopes of encouraging awareness, compassion, and community.

We love seeing photos of Josh and his class out in the community!
There were many times when he was younger that we could not take him with us to get groceries (or anywhere really) because of the meltdowns, running away, etc.
How about your family?

Our very last Parent Teacher conference went really well! Josh’s teacher is so fantastic, and she did a great job staying positive and upbeat, even though I was a wreck inside.
