We know what's needed, we know it in our spirit. Protect water, animals, lands, climate.

We do this by regulation. We make that decision as a society.

It's not partisan, it's not political. It's our planet, needing us to be at least as responsible as a grade-schooler.

Federally new environment assessment is required after Harper/Scheer/Kenny government cut federal oversight in 2012.

A middling improvement, Bill #C69 is in front of the Senate right now, but the pill patch and @Brian_Pallister are trying to block new regulation.

Also in Manitoba the government has failed water, going from promising to protect water by saying no net loss of wetlands down to no net loss of water retention. This is a catastrophe that @Brian_Pallister and @Min_Squires are presiding over.

Our lives will get harder as we continue the loss of nature. Harder to be healthy, harder to feed ourselves, more costly to just exist.

But we can decide to keep a full and healthy life in our society.

We will choose to put regulations in that preserve our environment.

We've failed to care for our water, as we all well know. More science isn't needed to show that we've polluted it everywhere.

Animal populations--half of them are gone. Insects, a huge part of life on earth, disappearing. Common birds, that have always been around us.

Do we want safety? Yes. No one is fighting this regulation.

But our health and comfort is directly affected by healthy nature and environment.

So why are we cutting enviro laws and regulation?
Will more development in nature help us?

No. Our planet is in peril.

Regulations have a place. They indicate what we want in society.
