I honestly wonder how much of the energy spent initiating fanwars is also being spent on voting and streaming. Because when the other fandom fights back, the ones who started it are often nowhere to be found—and the rest of the fandom is left dealing with the backlash.

If you’re the one starting the fight, remember: you’re not the only one who will carry the consequences. CORTIS’s name gets dragged into it too.

If you see accounts constantly trying to start fanwars, REPORT + BLOCK instead of engaging. Fanwars won’t help CORTIS’s reputation, and they definitely won’t help us secure a VMA.

And if we lose, don’t immediately blame another fandom. Ask yourself where your energy went. Did you spend your time voting and streaming for CORTIS, or arguing with people online?

CORTIS is still a 1-year-old group, and our fandom is still growing. Why put CORTIS in situations they never asked for?

Supporting CORTIS does not require us to hate or drag other artists.

So before you start something, ask yourself:

“Is this helping CORTIS win the VMA?”
