கைத்தறி நெசவாளர்களின் உழைப்பிற்கு மதிப்பளிப்பதும், கைத்தறி ��ொருட்களை அதிகம் பயன்படுத்தி, அவர்கள் வாழ்க்கை வளம் பெற ஆதரவளிப்பதும், நம் அனைவரின் பொறுப்பாகும்.

A hero of 2018, 2024 and 2026 is no more.

R. Rajesh of Kalliyoor, Thiruvananthapuram, was a rescue volunteer and rappelling instructor who answered the call of duty whenever Keralam needed him.

He stepped forward during the 2018 floods. He was among the rescuers during the Wayanad landslide tragedy in 2024. And in 2026, he made the ultimate sacrifice.

After giving his own life jacket to save a stranded farmer from the swollen Kariangode River in Kannur, Rajesh was swept away by the currents.

His courage, selflessness and sacrifice will forever be a part of Keralam's story.

My deepest condolences to his wife Smt. Lekshmi, his two young sons Arshan and Abhishek, his parents Shri Rajasekharan and Smt. Geetha, and all those who loved him.

I pray that his family finds the strength to bear this immeasurable loss.

Seven years ago, on this day, Articles 370 and 35(A) became history, marking a decisive new chapter in the journey of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh.

Since then, the lives of the people of J&K and Ladakh have witnessed wide-ranging transformation. Infrastructure has expanded, opportunities in areas such as education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and sports have grown. Be it the women or the marginalised communities, those who were denied their basic constitutional rights for decades have been empowered thanks to the full application of the Constitution of India.

5th August this year assumes even greater significance as this is the year our nation commemorates the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. His lifelong commitment to national unity continues to inspire generations. What he envisioned decades ago found historic fulfilment on 5th August 2019.

We reaffirm our commitment to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh and to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to dream big, achieve and contribute to the making of a Viksit Bharat.

இன்றைய தினம் காலை, நமது மதுரையின் அடையாளமாகவும், நம் வாழ்வியலோடும், பண்பாட்டோடும் ஒன்றிணைந்த, புனிதமான வைகை நதிக்கரையில், நமது @WTLFoundation அமைப்பின் சார்பில் "சுத்தமான, வளமான தமிழகம்" இயக்கத்தின் கீழ் தூய்மைப் பணியிலும், மரக்கன்றுகள் நடும் நிகழ்விலும் பங்கேற்றதில் பெரும் மகிழ்ச்சி.

திங்கள்கிழமை காலை என்றாலும், பெருந்திரளாகக் கூடி, முழு அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் உழைத்த தன்னார்வலர்கள், இளைஞர்கள் மற்றும் சகோதர, சகோதரிகள் அனைவருக்கும் என் மனமார்ந்த பாராட்டுக்களையும், நன்றிகளையும் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். உங்கள் ச��ூக அக்கறையே நமது இயக்கத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய பலம்.

வைகை நதி என்பது வெறும் நதி மட்டும் அல்ல. மதுரை மாநகரின் உயிர்நாடி. பல ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகளாக இந்த மண்ணின் நாகரிகத்தையும், விவசாயத்தையும், ஆன்மிகப் பாரம்பரியத்தையும் தாங்கி நிற்கும் தாய். வைகை அன்னையைத் தூய்மையாகப் பாதுகாப்பது, நம் ஒவ்வொருவரின் தார்மீகப் பொறுப்பு. ஒரு நதியைப் பாதுகாப்பது என்பது வெறும் சுற்றுச்சூழலைக் காப்பதல்ல, நமது பண்பாடு, வரலாறு, வாழ்வாதாரம் அனைத்தையும் பாதுகாப்பதாகும்.

வைகையை மாசுபடுத்தாமல் காப்போம். பிளாஸ்டிக் மற்றும் கழிவுகளை நதியில் கொட்டாமல் இருப்போம். நம் குழந்தைகளுக்கும், வருங்கால தலைமுறைக்கும் தூய்மையான வைகையை விட்டுச் செல்வோம். "சுத்தமான, வளமான தமிழகம்" என்ற இலக்கை மக்கள் இயக்கமாக மாற்றி, பசுமையும் தூய்மையும் நிறைந்த தமிழ்நாட்டை ஒன்றிணைந்த��� உருவாக்குவோம் என்ற அன்பான வேண்டுகோளை, மதுரை மக்களுக்கு வைத்துக் கொள்கிறேன். (1/4)

கடந்த 16.02.2018 அன்று, மாண்புமிகு உச்சநீதிமன்றம் வழங்கிய காவிரி நதி நீர் பங்கீடு தொடர்பான தீர்ப்பில், கர்நாடக அரசு காவிரியின் குறுக்கே எந்தவொரு கட்டமைப்பையும் புதிதாக ஏற்படுத்த, காவிரி நதி பாயும் மாநிலங்களான தமிழ்நாடு, கேரளா மற்றும் புதுச்சேரியின் ஒப்புதலைப் பெற வேண்டும் என்று எங்கும் குறிப்பிடப்படவில்லை என நேற்றைய தினம், மாநிலங்களவையில், காவிரி நதி தொடர்பாக, மத்திய நீர்வளத் துறை அமைச்சகம் அளித்துள்ள ��தில் மிகுந்த அதிர்ச்சியளிக்கிறது.

கடந்த 05.08.2021 அன்று அன்றைய மத்திய நீர்வளத்துறை அமைச்சர் திரு. கஜேந்திர சிங் ஷெகாவத் அவர்கள், அணைக் கட்டுமானத்திற்கான விரிவான திட்ட அறிக்கை (DPR) தயாரிக்க, கர்நாடக மாநிலத்துக்கு வழங்கப்பட்ட அனுமதி நிபந்தனைக்குட்பட்டது என்றும், மாநிலங்களுக்கு இடையேயான நதிநீர் பங்கீடு சட்டத்தின்படி, காவிரி கடைமட்டத்தில் பாயும் மாநிலங்களின், (குறிப்பாக தமிழ்நாட்���ின்) ஒப்புதல் இன்றி, நதியின் குறுக்கே அணை உள்ளிட்ட கட்டமைப்புகளை அமைக்க முடியாது என்றும் நாடாளுமன்றத்திலேயே தெளிவாக தெரிவித்திருந்தார்.

இந்த நிலையில், தமிழ்நாட்டு விவசாயிகளின் உரிமைகளையும், நலன்களையும் புறக்கணித்து, மத்திய அரசு தனது முந்தைய நிலைப்பாட்டிலிருந்து திடீரென பின்வாங்கியிருப்பது, கர்நாடகத் தேர்தல் அரசியலுக்காகவா என்ற சந்தேகத்தை எழுப்புகிறது.

விவசாயிகளின�� வாழ்வாதாரத்தைப் பாதிக்கும் இத்தகைய முக்கியமான விவகாரங்களில், மத்திய அரசு, நேர்மையாகவும், வெளிப்படையாகவும், ஒரே நிலைப்பாட்டிலும் செயல்பட வேண்டும் என எதிர்பார்ப்பது தவறா?

தமிழ்நாட்டு மக்களை எளிதாக எடுத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டாம். தமிழ்நாடு மற்றும் கர்நாடகா ஆகிய இரு சகோதர மாநிலங்களுக்கிடையேயான நல்லுறவை பாதிக்கும் வகையில் எந்த நடவடிக்கையும் எடுக்காமல், காவிரி விவகாரத்தில் சட்டத்திற்கும் நீதிக்கும் உட்பட்டு செயல்படுமாறு, மத்திய அரசை வலியுறுத்துகிறேன்.

The Ministry of Jal Shakti in the Rajya Sabha yesterday said that in the Supreme Court Verdict dated 16.02.2018, there is no mention that the State of Karnataka has to obtain the consent of the other riparian states, namely Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the UT of Puducherry, to construct any kind of structure across the River Cauvery.

This statement only exposes that the rights of the farmers of Tamil Nadu have been discarded from consideration by the BJP-led Central Government for electoral gains in Karnataka.

I have to point out here that on 5th August 2021, former Union Minister for Jal Shakti Thiru Gajendra Singh Shekawat avl on the floor of Parliament, said that the permission to the State government of Karnataka to prepare a DPR was only conditional, and according to the Inter-State River Water Dispute Act, it is mandatory to obtain permission from all the lower riparian States (in this case Tamil Nadu) for the construction of a dam which passes Inter State.

Why is the Central Government now suddenly making a U-turn on the position it had already taken? Is expecting consistency at least on life-changing decisions of our Farmers too much to ask for?

Request the central government not to take the people of Tamil Nadu for granted and unnecessarily vitiate the brotherly relationship between the two friendly states, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
