The last thing Travis County needs is a new jail for youth.
There are around 30 kids in juvenile criminal custody in Travis County.
Spending more than $300 million on new youth lock-ups and juvenile courts makes no sense, in human or financial costs.
We're angry but not surprised to hear this out of Dallas County’s youth jail. Unsanitary conditions, abuse from staff, over-incarceration leading to neglect & self-harm – it’s an all too common story. If anyone you know has been jailed here, reach out: we want to hear from you.
Hi y’all! We have a couple exciting events coming up in the next month or so. We will be holding a virtual and an in person narrative training with our partners at @txafterviolence and @ChildDefender so please sign up and share this event: https://t.co/SdGc1LrFC2

Happy International Women's Day from #FinishThe5! Today we want to recognize the amazing and accomplished women in our coalition who are fighting to end the incarceration of youth in Texas, while also acknowledging the voices of incarcerated women and girls themselves.
