another song, lots of aphex twin-esque breakbeat chops and black midi-style dissonant fingerpicked guitar arpeggios. i hope you get something out of it.

New look for the band, plus someone you haven't seen yet 👀
This is a work-in-progress redesign. I'd been chasing a more realistic, detailed style, but King, Anne, and Milton come alive when they're loose and cartoony, so I'm leaning into that.
Making the first comics taught me how much I hadn't figured out yet: locations, outfits, props, side characters. So I'm slowing down and building the world properly before the next batch, instead of rushing out stuff I'm not proud of.
The new face gets her own introduction soon. What do you think her deal is?
A very, very old animation test I did probably 2+ years ago at this point before I had the character designs more locked in place. I kinda want to return to the limited cel animation on top of abstract 3D or real footage look at some point. Animation is a giant amount of work though and I was utterly unprepared for the amount of work it was so the name of the game is more really constraining how much work you plan on actually doing (and then assuming it will take twice as long as you think it will.) At the time I preferred to just kinda go for it, and I really underestimated the importance of planning too. Backgrounds especially have never been my thing. We will see how it goes in the future.
“bBeater_00.wav” This beat is also quite old at this point. I was experimenting with chopping breakbeats in Renoise’s Redux and resampling string synths from VCV Rack and cutting it all up and rearranging it. I tend to work that way a lot actually, I will make all these abstract sounds, forget how I made them, and then years later it’s as if I have perfect knowledge of every beat I have ever made and I can go back into that project and pull that piece out and recontextualize it later. You’ll realize some sound you made or melody you wrote is the perfect missing piece to the thing you’re working on years later, like you’re collaborating with your past self.
An old artwork of ours where I tried to add as much detail as I could without everything breaking. Still toying with what the look of the band should be exactly. There’s a part of me that prefers sketch versions because there’s some detail in the soft gradation in pencil brushes rather than the hard all-or-nothing look of pen. Still, I feel like this turned out pretty well. I was a big fan of Araki’s artwork for Jojo’s at the time and so this was directly inspired by that.

my whole catalog is noise and chaos so having my new single GATORKID as the sweetest love song ever feels like the funniest difference. artists that have one song in stark contrast with their usual style is hilarious to me #noiserock#experimentalrock
the average person you meet spends nothing on music (aside from a Spotify sub) goes to 3 or less concerts a year and remains aghast at your revelation that you also must work a full time job... interesting!
i want to start field recording my own sounds. i use a lot of acoustic texture in my music, water, wind, birds, but i want to actually own those recordings. I hate the idea of some copyright bot saying I don't actually own my own song Just because someone else used the sample first, Even though i'm legally cleared to use it. does anyone know music recorded this way? #experimentalmusic #noisemusic
@ihatejue when I first started making music I basically never finished songs ever. it just didn't happen. now I just have an obligation to finish them. maybe the difference is doing it purely for fun versus being serious about it.
ive been slowly, painfully upgrading the studio piece by piece but As things upgrade , I hate the idea of selling instruments even if i've never touched them. Once I own something , it's part of the story of my music and I hate the idea of getting rid of it. does anyone else get sentimental with their equipment? #experimentalmusic #noiserock
i don't plan songs so much as i collage them. record a bunch of stuff, stitch it together, and somehow the accidents connect into something that sounds intentional. most of EINSAM was built that way. does anyone else use this strategy? #noisemusic#experimentalartist
i think my music is missing a sense of adventure lately. i used to travel a lot more and I miss every song having a story behind it. now that every song I make is just in my room I can feel it leaking into the music. what do you do to foster creativity? #experimentalrock#idm
what is the line between intricate and overproduced? as a maximalist, the more layers the better. I love songs that are "a bit much". to me it's just sonically rich #experimentalrock#noiserock
I love songs where you can listen countless times but still be able to find little intricacies you didn't notice before. what songs / albums come to mind? #musictwt#experimentalmusic
