En 1990 le relegaron la copa a Alemania con un penal que no existió y no le cobraron uno que sí era a favor de Argentina.

En 1994 la sanción contra Maradona no debía ser expulsión de la copa, apenas una o dos fechas por tomar algo que no le daba ventaja deportiva.

Durante 2014 no le cobraron a Argentina uno o dos penales contra Alemania.

Ahora un árbitro de la misma nacional que el presidente de la UEFA nos dejó con uno menos contra España que no tiene delanteros para meterla y estaban a tiro de contragolpe o penales.

A World Cup Final Is Chess Played With Lungs

People say football is simple: twenty-two men chase a ball, one team scores more, everyone goes home.

But a World Cup final is not really football.

It is chess played with lungs.

Both teams arrive with an opening prepared: pressing triggers, passing patterns, defensive rotations. For ten minutes, everything may follow theory.

Then someone slips. Someone improvises. Someone sees a move that was never in the file.

And the real game begins.

Like chess, football is decided by space, timing and threats. The greatest players do not only change the game when they touch the ball. Their reputation changes the position before the ball even reaches them.

A defender steps forward too early. Another moves across to help. A passing lane opens somewhere else.

Not because the players “wanted it more.” Everyone wants it. The difference is who can make the correct decision while exhausted, terrified and surrounded by noise.

And somewhere, one player will make the right move while the entire world is screaming for another.
