The human species has shifted away from the natural world to take over the planet. We now seen ourselves as the de facto owners, managers, consumers and legitimate extractors of every valuable shred of raw material on Earth.
Yet Earth's biological systems evolved over hundreds of millions of years of cause and effect - highly complex, slow-moving feedback loops born of global disasters and evolutionary dead ends. They included the rise of cyanobacteria, which produced oxygen from waste matter and transformed the atmosphere. The emergence of eukaryotes came about through a chance collaboration between prokaryotes and archaea.
The origin of DNA stands as the most astonishing chapter in the rise of complex life, built around ancient RNA while enlisting that same RNA to drive cellular function. This was the moment when multicellular life became a self-fulfilling miracle. It wasn't all about us.
Today, every organism on Earth carries its own unique package of defining DNA in a double helix so infinitesimal it can only be glimpsed under electron microscopes.
In a fraction of a geological blink, humans have chosen to turn their backs on this proven wisdom of nature. We seek to replace it with our own petty agendas - crafted over a few thousand years, compared with the billions of years Earth spent transforming an ancient, orange-hued iron world into a bright blue-green oasis of the only life we know.
At the center of this lies a profound truth. The dense, energy-filled hydrocarbons from ancient epochs liberated humanity from the physical constraints of tribal existence, only to entrap us in a new kind of intellectual poverty. Instant energy has granted us unprecedented mastery over space and matter, but it severed our ancient connection to the living world.
As material wealth expanded, humanity’s collective field of view has shrunk. The destruction of physical landscapes - from cleared ancient forests to depleted oceans - is not just environmental degradation. It's the outward gesture of a species that has forgotten its origins.
We routinely mistake nature’s extraordinary resilience and absorptive capacity as permission to exploit it. We thoughtlessly outsource the dire consequences of our economic hunger to distant regions or future generations. We prioritise short-term gain and financial distraction over any sense of stewardship for a biological world we do not own and never have or can.
Modern human society has traded its relational richness with the living planet for spiritual emptiness. Ever walk alone in a forest? This jarring friction between the human and natural realms is not a resource crisis; it is the legacy of a species at war with itself.
We ignored our origins, and replaced the living world that gave us life with an empty, endless search for something new.
For the record, the primary legislation that historically banned non-nationals (aliens) from sitting in the UK Parliament is the Act of Settlement 1700–01.
Under Section 3 of the Act, the English Parliament barred anyone born outside England, Scotland, Ireland, or their respective dominions from being a member of the House of Commons or the Lords, even if they had become naturalised citizens.
The law stated: "...no person born out of the kingdoms of England, Scotland, or Ireland, or the dominions thereunto belonging... (although he be naturalized or made a denizen...) shall be capable to be of the Privy Council, or a member of either House of Parliament...".
The absolute ban on foreign-born individuals was dismantled in stages rather than a singular repeal:
Commonwealth and Irish Citizens (1981): The absolute restriction on naturalised or foreign-born individuals standing for parliament was modified by the British Nationality Act 1981. This Act amended the historic disqualification completely, exempting citizens of the Republic of Ireland and qualifying Commonwealth countries.
EU Citizens (Disqualified at Westminster, Allowed Locally): Non-Commonwealth/non-Irish foreign nationals remain disqualified from sitting in the Westminster Parliament. However, regional exceptions emerged later; for example, the Scottish Parliament passed the Scottish Elections Act 2025 allowing foreign nationals with leave to remain to stand in local and Scottish Parliamentary elections.
Today, the disqualifying architecture established by the 1701 Act remains the baseline rule: to stand for the UK Parliament, a candidate must be a British citizen, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen, or a citizen of the Republic of Ireland.
We need to restore the original Act of Settlement, with the deletion of “or the dominions thereunto belonging”. At the very least, a person who has not been born in the UK and is not themselves a British citizen, should not be allowed to stand for elected office. Preferably, both parents should be British citizens, born in the UK.
If you drove anywhere in summer before about 1990, you had to stop and clean the insects off the windscreen. Nobody has had to do that for 30 years, and the reason is growing in the fields beside the road.
You will remember it. The drive to the coast in August, and by the halfway point the glass was a mess of yellow and green. Your father pulled into a garage and went at it with the squeegee from the bucket. Moths came at the headlights like snow. The front number plate was unreadable by Sunday night.
It has a name now. Scientists call it the windscreen phenomenon, because drivers noticed before they did.
In Germany a group of amateur entomologists trapped flying insects in nature reserves for 27 years. The weight in the traps fell by 76%. In Britain, volunteers who count the splats on their number plates have recorded a fall of around 60% since 2004 alone, and that was from a level already far below the one you remember.
The cars are not the difference. The land is.
Since the war Britain has ploughed up 97% of its wildflower meadows and a great deal of its old pasture, and put the ground into crops. Since the 1990s the seed for those crops has arrived already coated in insecticide, which the plant takes up into every leaf and flower.
A field of wheat or oilseed rape is designed to contain one species. Everything else is a pest, and is dealt with.
A cow pasture is never sprayed for insects. It is alive from the soil to the swallows.
We are told the countryside would recover if we ate plants and got rid of the animals. The clean windscreen is what the plants did.
This would be a tremendously good thing.
Strip away the veneer of respectability: let the elderly middle class Green voters see the full horror of what they have facilitated.
In 1931 a dentist from Cleveland found a valley in Switzerland with 2,000 people, no doctor, no dentist, no policeman, almost no tooth decay, and a cow on every hillside.
Weston Price had spent his career looking at rotten mouths in Ohio and wanted to know what a mouth looked like before the shop arrived.
The Loetschental had no shop. One road in, closed by snow for months.
The diet was raw milk, raw butter, raw cream and raw cheese, off cows that climbed to the high pasture in June and came down in September.
Rye bread was baked once a month in the village oven and eaten with cheese cut as thick as the bread.
Meat was Sunday.
He examined thousands of teeth with no toothbrush in the valley and found decay in 3 of every 100.
The Swiss government's own records showed no death from tuberculosis in the valley at a time when it was killing the rest of the country.
The first butter after the cows reached the summer grass was deep orange, and the valley carried it to church to give thanks for it.
He went down the mountain to the towns the railway had reached, where the shop sold white flour, sugar and tinned food, and found rotten mouths and the tuberculosis ward.
Same people. Same mountains. Same cows, a train ride apart.
The entire medicine cabinet of the valley was a cow on a hill, and it ran a 97% success rate on teeth without a single qualification between them.
Now that there will be a Parliamentary debate on the folic acid issue, I wonder what the government's next steps will be.
Probably absolutely nothing in the short term.
But ultimately I think public pressure will force some change.
But I can't see them reversing the policy even though that is the right thing to do.
Most likely they will go for some kind of fudge. Lower doses, probably, and/or better labelling. Perhaps adding a few more exemptions, like organic flour.
But the problem with that is the principle will have been established that medicine can be added to food for the supposed benefit of a tiny portion of the population despite the potential risk to a much larger number.
That's why we need to keep campaigning for its complete removal.
Otherwise government will come for other foods with other medicines.
This is what passes for government these days. They implement a policy no one asked for, there is a storm of protest, and eventually they wind the policy back a bit but without withdrawing it altogether. Then they lie low until they think no-one is paying attention any more, and then come again at us, trying to push the boundary further.
Government By Seeing What We Can Get Away With
It's really despicable.
Capital flees taxation the way water flows downhill: By the physics of human choice.
When France raised its top income tax rate to 75% in 2013, Gerard Depardieu moved to Belgium and eventually took Russian citizenship. Eduardo Saverin renounced his U.S. citizenship before Facebook's 2012 IPO. These were transactions. Rational actors doing math.
Impose a cost on production and you get less production. Impose a cost on capital and capital relocates. The political class treats this as betrayal. Supply and demand applies to jurisdictions.
Cayman Islands, Monaco, Dubai, Singapore: these places didn't stumble into prosperity. They built low-tax, low-regulation environments and capital came to them. Singapore's top income tax rate sits at 24% with no capital gains tax at all. The result is a per capita GDP that buries most of Europe.
High-tax jurisdictions run the same experiment in reverse. You raise rates, your most mobile earners leave first, then your businesses restructure, then your tax base erodes, so you raise rates again on whoever remains. The spiral ends with a population that cannot leave because it has nothing worth taxing.
California has lost over 500,000 residents net to other states since 2020. Illinois has shed population for nine consecutive years. The people staying aren't the founders and investors. They're the ones who can't afford to move.
Tax havens don't cause this dysfunction. They simply make it visible by giving capital somewhere better to go.
“[Liberals] do not share the nations traditions, they are indifferent to its past and have no ambition for its future. Their dream is the great International, in which the differences of peoples and languages, races and cultures will be obliterated.”

💥Do you want to have a 20% increased risk of cancer ?
All humans struggle to break down ‘Synthetic Folic Acid’ because it is not a natural substance.
This leads to an increase in Synthetic Folic Acid in the body.
Increased Synthetic Folic Acid levels below 1000 micrograms a day gives a 20% increased cancer risk.
The average doses of Synthetic Folic Acid with mandated flour with be 250 micrograms per day.
Why would the Government want to mandate synthetic Folic Acid into our diets and increase our cancer risk by 20% ?
Just like the Covid mRNA ‘vaccines’ ?

Commiserations to Shabana Mahmood today, as a prior engagement has kept her from joining her fellow protestors celebrating the anniversary of the rape and murder or Israelis 3 years ago. Maybe next year babes.
Finally, it's being widely talked about!
Folic acid should be nowhere near staple foods.
Arguably it shouldn't even be in supplements.
A small proportion of the population might need folate supplements.
So: let's find out who those people are, and give them folate supplements, and keep unnecessary and potentially harmful medicines out of everyone's food. There's enough crap in processed food already without adding medicine as well.
