West Ham feels like a club in genuine crisis to me. To many on the outside, they see Premier League football, a big stadium and a recent European trophy and think it’s all just whinging but so many of their fans feel totally disconnected with their club.

Long-term season ticket holders are giving up their seats year on year, they despise the ownership, hate the stadium they play in, have had to fight tooth and nail to keep things like concession prices in place and worst of all, can’t see a logical way out of the mess they find themselves in. It’s a club which many of their fans feel is willingly forging a path away from the core support which has stuck with them for generations.

Yes, the headlines are regularly dominated by the team’s struggles under Graham Potter in the here and now but the sense of frustration the vast majority of that fan-base feel runs so much deeper than the 9 months he’s been in charge.

It feels like there’s a major sense of dissatisfaction for match-going Premier League fans up and down the country this season. It’s most obvious at Spurs & West Ham but it’s definitely widespread, with fans feeling as though they’re seen by club owners as cash-cows and nothing more.

Ticket prices are going up pretty much everywhere, concessions for OAP’s and U16s are being scrapped or limited and the general atmosphere in stadiums is changing because of it. I say “changing” rather than being damaged because if you exclaim a sense of sadness at the working classes being priced out of watching their team each week, certain people on here will simply suggest you’re attempting to stand in the way of progress.

The Premier League is an outrageously successful product, that success has, by definition raised its profile across the globe and with it, the fervour to secure match tickets from week to week but if you continue to prioritise affluent “customers” over those who follow the clubs from the cradle to the grave, you’re on a way round towards a league that loses its USP.

No doubt in my mind that we'll win on Monday, so that bellend Sullivan can put back on his blindfold and act as if all is well.

West Ham will never be a serious club with him in charge. Criminal.
