@ManyBeenRinsed It really depends if you own assets or not. The median adult in Canada is probably over the age of 40, likely has had time to accumulate wealth and assets. The outlook and wealth for younger people is much lower. Job prospects and unemployment are much higher the younger you get
@SteveSaretsky These guys are so full of it. Okay, someone else is going to come in and flip it…right, no one has because it’s too expensive. They keep saying “below their (the govts) cost to build.” Yeah, we know, that cost is probably 2x what anyone would pay. This is a massive bailout
@globeandmail@TurnbullWhitby Ah yes, Deloitte - the incredible forecasters of growth; if the really believed their forecasts they would trade on them - otherwise, this is just another useless point. Last year, Canada was projected to have the highest gdp growth in the G7. What happened?
@rupasubramanya Surveys are only useful when capital moves in or is projected to move in. It’s free to do a survey, it’s a MUCH harder bet to actually move capital
@EricDLombardi The issue is, it’s too easy to game, at the moment. What does “above the cad average mean?” Often times employers will pay folks and those same people will return the $$ in the form of cash.m.
For Masters/PhD from top uni, it should be easy. Not Conestoga college
@SamHersh01 Where does individual responsibility fall on all this? Addiction is a hard problem to solve, I accept that, but, how far should society have to go to deal with this? Issue with safe injection sites is: 1) they’re economic playground for drug dealers 2) no one wants to live by one
@BenRabidoux If you zoom out a little further, you can see it as a small blip on a continuous downward trajectory. The long-term average sales for the month should be used to see where this stands historically. Y/Y is informative but in the context of long history, it doesn’t show full pic
