Cannot recommend this enough, a truly life changing experience. If you’re an individual who’s interested in history, the First World War and becoming an ambassador for the @CWGC in the face of the public, this is for you!
ℹ Australia will hold a National Day of Mourning to observe Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday 22 September 2022.
The Sir John Monash Centre therefore will be closed on that day.
We will welcome you from 10am on Friday 23 September.
Fantastic to welcome @LegerBattleTour to the @CWGC Experiance this morning and to join @sommecourt & @Allen1Mark for the next few days on their special Silent Cities tour that explores the story of the War Graves Commission. Arras today, tomorrow the Somme.
Welcome aboard everyone. Thrilled to welcome all our 2022 Guides - you’re doing such an important job and we’re delighted to have you join us as part of our fantastic CWGC family.
Nice to see @WW1_Education and @fiona_tabary and the new batch of @CWGC interns today at the Arras memorial. A pleasure as always. Good luck to them all.
Back in France with the second wave of @CWGC guides! Representatives from all across the U.K. A real pleasure to be working them and with @MaxDutton2 and @fiona_tabary Look out for them next week at Thiepval AND at Tyne Cot!

#Dieppe80#DieppeRaid we also visited the Communal cemetery of Janval. 29 men killed during #WW2 are buried here. 222 men and women #WW1 are also buried here, among whom this unknown stewardess. Dieppe was a small hospital base, and soldiers died here up to the end of 1919. RIP
Whilst commemorating #Dieppe80#Dieppe80 I stopped at Varangeville sur Mer churchyard, where one #WW2 soldier of the Seaforth Highlanders is buried in an isolated @CWGC grave. Lce Cpl Millar was killed when attempting to embark back to Britain in St Valery en Caux in June 1940.
A new Headstone for Private C Byrne after it was reported to have become illegible earlier this year.
Thank you to our 'Eyes On, Hands On' volunteer David for reporting this and the photo.
Tomorrow is my last shift working as a guide for the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation. One of our projects was to compile a guide's guide to the Somme. This is my contribution - Dartmoor Cemetery.
