We tested exact search vs IVF on 100,000 documents.

Exact top-10: 8.858 ms

IVF: 0.725 ms

12.2× faster.

The system only scored 6.71% of the corpus while keeping 88.3% recall@10.

The key:

→ 64 clusters
→ Probe 4
→ Re-score candidates exactly

But the real lesson came from testing the knobs.

Best configuration: 1.000 recall

Worst: 0.429
