Important thread on the value of humanities education, the irrationality of Australia's plans to change the fees charged for different courses at universities
we study different things because that diversity gives us strength, and enables us to explore things from different POVs
Humanities and social science scholars have gone blue in the face emphasising the value and utility of our disciplines, good employment/income of our graduates, etc. Nobody's listening. We keep getting shafted, whether by policy or idiotic "studying Arts = burger flipper" jokes.
On what evidence is the Arts' fee hike based? According to the most recent Graduate Outcomes Survey (2019) Humanities students had equal full time employment as Maths and Science students with Communications students just a bit less.

@CoreyA96 Why do you think trackwork is? And yes, rain affects everything and what it affects can’t be predicted. Our train system is fantastic compared to many others.
I'm super excited to hear Dr. Leigh Hochberg's Fireside chat on The Power of Technology to Transform Lives. It's a rare opportunity to hear from a world leader who is using technology to restore the independence of people living with a disability. Come https://t.co/ynMXuaando
I'm excited to be speaking at the Future of Work Summit in Melb on 15th May talking about why the future isn't #AI - it's #IA. How do we use an IA model to ensure that we keep people in #jobs and keep them #skills-relevant? #skillsgap#infiniteadaptation
