Rather a cold, grey and windy morning at @RSPBArne today, but this Dartford warbler didn't seem to mind. Seen on Coombe Heath at 09.00hrs

A sudden 5 minutes rain shower on the hot ground made the air smell sweet and fragrant. #petrichor Once the rain cleared I could see Corfe Castle emerging from the mist in the distance. Can anyone ID the tiny orangey-red lichen/fungus?
My first visit to Arne @RSPBDorset for well over a year. I had the Hyde’s Heath trail all to myself. The birds were all pretty skittish this morning so I didn’t get great photos (lots of moulting adults and many juveniles, but the fresh, rain-sweetened air was a real tonic.
Chilling in the garden with my favourite fox this afternoon. She’s one of five cubs who spent last summer under my decking, but she’s the only one that regularly spends time in the garden. She’s used to me, so she posed nicely for her close ups. 🦊🥰 #FoxOfTheDay
When you’re standing still for a while - photographing puffins at the colony at Hafnarhólmi, eastern Iceland - and you hear a little squawk at your feet. 🥰
By the time I’d managed to get my phone out it had started walking back to its burrow.
Atlantic puffin colony at Hafnarhólmi, Borgarfjörður Eystri, east Iceland 7/8/24. I spotted a curious puffling in its burrow and waited for its parent to return. Taken in low light at 9:30pm so quite noisy. Lovely to see though 🥰
My garden fox cubs are growing up fast and really starting to look more like gangly mini foxes than fluffy cubs now. Such a treat to watch them every day 🦊😍
I found this beautiful fox family scavenging around my bird feeders in my tiny garden. The vixen has signs of mange, so I left a bowl of dog food with mange drops last night - which I saw her eat. I will keep doing this whilst she needs the food. #foxoftheday@ChrisGPackham
The four cubs look fit and healthy and are incredibly boisterous; No wonder the vixen looked exhausted. The photos aren’t as sharp as I would have liked as I was shooting through a double glazed window in poor light and the cubs were racing around.
