@OleHenriksen my order arrived with half missing and I paid duty on all of it at an inflated price. No one is responding to my emails in customer service. Very very disappointing.
My absolute hero daughter has got some smile back. 14 years old, week 7 in Bristol Children’s hospital smashing Leukaemia to pieces. Shit few weeks, but this smile ❤️
Irish Pals, please share, my friends are trying to rehome Jilly they can’t take her with them to NYC. She’s an older lady who loves boxes & head bops. Needs to be a solitary cat. Her dads are getting really anxious about finding a home for her. Any help appreciated x
This 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud lady, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o’clock, with her hair fashionably coiffed and makeup perfectly applied, even though she is legally blind, moved to a nursing home yesterday. Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready. As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window. “I love it,” she stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
“Mrs. Jones, you haven’t seen the room …. just wait.”
“That doesn’t have anything to do with it,” she replied. “Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn’t depend on how the furniture is arranged, it’s how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. It’s a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice;
I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I’ve stored away, just for this time in my life.”
She went on to explain, “Old age is like a bank account, you withdraw from what you’ve put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing.”
And with a smile, she said: “Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less, & enjoy every moment.

This represents pretty much all my years of competitive swimming & it is not the way.
You don't get better trying to push yourself every day to hang with the next level up.
You get better by humbly, consistently showing up day after day at *your* level.
If you keep doing this, over time, your level will reach, or exceed, 'their level' quite naturally.
The hardest thing of helping dogs is the wild swings in emotions from hour to hour. Like today…
🐶 Delirious happy as found 2 more homes for puppies in Bangkok. Preparing them for a 1000km journey tomorrow. They would die on the streets so a huge win.
🎾 A huge mass the size of a tennis ball has appeared on my own dog Snoops neck. Not good at all as he is about 13. It’s going down a bit but looks like big trouble.
🤕 The tiny little dog at the end is about 1 year old. She was the victim of abuse and had a leg that has been snapped by a clean blow. I can’t get it operated on the island so trying to find a solution. She is safe at the land now but is like a zombie as she has seen a lot. Luckily someone was brave enough to film her in trouble (can’t say more) and someone else negotiated her release to me.
What I love though is that even though it is challenging mentally and the solutions are not easy it feels like every action can change a life. I actually feel blessed to be able to do that and have found this in life. Fingers crossed I can get all this sorted 🙏🥰
@scottcarlinpt I’ve just unknowingly bought 1, having bought hoka bondi X for the cushioning in a sale. I’m intrigued. What makes the carbon plating so much better?
