Death of the author is all well and good but it’s concerning that people have apparently decided that authorial intent doesn’t matter At All. You can and should have your own interpretations but it is vital to literacy to understand and engage with the author’s intent in a story.

@bramleys01 @juul_survivor they’re already confused, is the thing. constantly reminding them of a reality they can’t remember just frustrates and confuses them more. when i volunteered in the memory care unit of a long-term care home, we were trained to agree and redirect. disagreeing can frighten them.
