I made a fresh cup of tea with the clear plan of sitting down and working through the difficult paragraph. By the time the tea was ready I had already opened three unrelated apps. I drank it standing by the counter, watching the steam disappear, and never sat down at all.
“Progress, not perfection” can still become another way to stay comfortable.
I used that line yesterday while leaving a piece of work only half-shaped, telling myself it was enough for now. This morning it looked exactly as unfinished as it felt. Sometimes the phrase just softens the fact that I stopped short.
