Asset-Based Community Development: The three levels at which assets can be found as they relate to communities & why it mostly makes good power sense to start with primary assets and work outwards.
@Julesequity Definitely so much inherent in the reflexivity between ourselves and the world. What are we doing to shape the world, what are we doing (or not!) to shape ourselves and then how is the world around us shaping us in ways we're probably not even conscious of.
@soh_yon Or common set of values then it creates a central point of reference that we can all point at. I actually think the government service standard is a good example of this. It's not perfect but it is a power lever to start a different conversation and change a cultural dynamic.
@soh_yon Agreed. And that is absolutely not acceptable, especially when those marginalised are already in a vulnerable power position and this puts the spotlight on them, which can further divide or marginalise. So, I guess that's why the system angle - if we develop a common vision /1
@LauraParkerUX When I was at RBS, they were trying to roll out UCD across the org and had lots of different variations. My favourite was Discover, Implement, Evaluate 😏
@MrTomYoull Like, if it’s about Ireland’s culture shifting away from the idyllic lifestyle depicted in the movie, away from the Catholic dogma and welcoming diverse cultures into its own identity and then the rejection of all of that. Do people get engaged in the intellectual aspect of that?
