Good meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty on the margins of the Africa Business Forum in Cairo. We discussed our longstanding U.S.-Egypt strategic partnership and shared regional priorities, including advancing unification in Libya, resolving the conflict in Sudan, and promoting peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.
Remarkable to see the U.S. military finally pulling out of Iraq after 20 years, 4,500+ U.S. deaths, and 200,000+ Iraqi deaths.
The deal was made in 2024 under Biden with a Sept 30th 2026 deadline and Trump followed through.
Now end the Iran war.

Gas and diesel prices are ridiculous in the Permian Basin, Lubbock, Texas - top 5 most oil in the world!!!
Everyone I talked to is furious and disgusted.
It was under $2 in Dec of 2025 in Lubbock and because of Trump’s war with Iran it is now over $4 and diesel is near $6.
Pleased to co-host the UNGA side event “International Support for Peace, Unity, and Prosperity in Libya” with Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan, alongside UN-SRSG Hanna Tetteh and partners from Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, KSA, Qatar, the UAE, and the UK.
Libyans from east and west have made important progress on a unified budget, economic and security coordination, and a UN-facilitated electoral framework. Now is the time to build on this momentum by unifying Libya’s institutions, deepening security integration, and supporting a Libyan-led path toward national elections and lasting peace.
Appreciated the opportunity to speak with regional and international media on Thursday about President Trump’s efforts to advance peace and unlock new opportunities for stability and prosperity across the Middle East and Africa. We discussed the progress toward reunifying Libya’s institutions and advancing a path to national elections, as well as ongoing diplomatic efforts toward a lasting resolution in Western Sahara. We also discussed securing a humanitarian truce and related peace efforts in Sudan, advancing durable peace in the Great Lakes region, as well as promoting stability in Ethiopia.
#LIBYA OIL: NOC says it has shut down one of the two 60kbd units it its 120kbd Zawia refinery due to the continued forced production shutdown at the El Sharara field
Valued my discussion with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the path forward in Libya. We discussed the importance of building on recent momentum to advance Libya’s political process, unify its institutions, and support a Libyan-led path toward unified governance and national elections. Türkiye remains an important partner in supporting efforts toward a stable, united, and prosperous Libya.
Step 1- Remove Mike Johnson
Step 2- Put Thomas Massie in as Speaker of the House
Step 3- Watch Congress return to work, the debt shrink, wars end, and civil liberties return
Great to join Unstoppable Africa @GlobalAfricaBiz yesterday for a wide-ranging conversation on U.S.-Africa relations. President Trump's vision for the continent is anchored in peace, partnerships, and prosperity. We talked about how that vision is translating into real progress, from boosting U.S. private sector investment in Africa's critical minerals to supporting infrastructure projects like the Lobito Corridor to advancing efforts for durable peace across the continent. Trade, not aid, continues to guide our engagement because African nations deserve partnerships rooted in mutual respect and shared opportunity, not dependency.
The Egyptian presidency officially announced that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will receive tomorrow Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on an official working visit of critical importance given the rapid developments unfolding in the region.

Productive meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo to discuss our shared commitment to regional peace and security. On Libya, we discussed the importance of advancing unified political, security, and economic institutions. On Western Sahara, we emphasized the need to advance a lasting and mutually acceptable resolution consistent with UN Security Council Resolution 2797. On Sudan, we agreed on the urgency and necessity of a humanitarian truce which enables unhindered humanitarian access. The United States continues to partner with the United Nations to advance peace and stability across the region.
